At Woodridge Academy, students have been told to stay out of the woods.
Tamaya has to walk to school with Marshall Walsh, a seventh-grader. One day, Marshall takes the shortcut through the woods, trying to avoid Chad, the school bully. Tamaya hesitantly follows and soon the children are lost. Suddenly, Chad appears. When he attacks Marshall, Tamaya grabs a handful of 'fuzzy mud' and throws it in the bully's face.
The next day Chad is missing.
Reluctantly, Marshall and Tamaya go looking for Chad only to find an unexpected threat in the woods that puts not only their school and their village in danger, but possibly the entire world .
